This is the way that UNISON at Teesside University will be keeping up with our members. It’s quicker and slicker than the traditional website, we can keep it updated within a minute’s notice of fast moving events such as Pay talks or industrial action.

What is UNISON?
UNISON is the recognised trade union that represents all Support Staff in Teesside University such as Cleaning, Security, Administrative and Professional and Technical workers. We negotiate for better pay and conditions, help individuals in trouble and campaign for a safer, fairer society….
UNISON is a democratic organisation and is governed by members for members. The links at the bottom of this page will tell you who your rep is and who the elected officials of the branch are.
Our subscriptions are banded according to income and are not percentages, contrary to popular belief. The Teesside University branch is one of 64 branches that constitute the Northern Region and we are allied to other public sector workers such as Police civilian staff, Transport, Utilities, NHS and Local Government.
What if there was no UNISON?
Without UNISON, all our staff would have minimal pay, less pension rights and our conditions would be steadily eroded. Members would have no representation at disciplinary proceedings or legal representation, employer policies would be heavily weighted in favour of management and work would be a much more uncomfortable place to be.
